Deployment of a crane on 2002/02/07 in Hoppstädten near Birkenfeld
A Demag AC 200, Liebherr LTM 1100, Liebherr 1160 and Liebherr LTM 1300 were used together to unload 2 boilers with a length of 18.50 m, a width of 3.50 m, a height of 3.50 m and a weight of 63 t from the truck.
The requirement was to turn both items around by 90° in the air and to lower them onto a prepared support next to the truck. Both sides of the boiler were fitted with four lifting points at a distance of 3.20 m that were only capable of accepting a diagonal force of 3° max. during the lifting operation. For this reason every crane was equipped with a 3.2 m long heavy-duty cross-member.
All cranes and a single guide were equipped with Steil two-way radios and operate at a single command.
