Deployment of a crane in Trier on 21.09.05 at the Rheinische Landesmuseum
To avoid the costly deployment of a 200 t crane with counter weight and double folding cantilever on the parking lot in front of the building, our sales representatives examined and surveyed the site precisely.
Since installing the 200 t crane in front of the building would also have been very costly on account of the cramped conditions, the dimensions of the entrance and the inner courtyard itself were determinened down to the nearest centimetre. Because the height of the entrance was only 3.25 m combined with a width of 2.8-m the crane had to be lowered completely and the superstructure including any all-round lights had to be removed.
With additional hardwood sleepers the crane could be supported in the inner courtyard behind the wall and leveled out. When the crane had been installed, we unloaded the air-conditioning subassemblies from the truck in the parking lot using a boom length of 36 m and lifted them over the first building into the inner courtyard.
Using a boom of 23 m and under radio-based guidance and under our management the air-conditioning subassemblies were lowered through an opening in the roof that was not visible to the crane operator. The dimensions of the subassemblies were 2.5 m long, 1 m wide and 2.1 m high.
The precise dimensions provided by our sales representatives resulted in a considerable reduction of costs for our customer. On this occasion, the extensive range of equipment provided by the Steil-group has proven itself once again.
